Andrew J. Broder

A 1973 graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, Mr. Broder has extensive experience in the areas of estate planning and end-of-life decision-making; corporate, banking and health care law; and business, probate and real estate litigation. Mr. Broder has also been involved in commercial lending and closings concerning real estate and general asset collateral, as well as representing banks and commercial finance companies in workouts and other matters.

Mr. Broder helped to form Michigan's first hospital bioethics committee (serving as general counsel to the hospital and a member of the committee), and he has been a leading voice for the right to medical self-determination in the Michigan courts. Mr. Broder has litigated, lectured, and consulted extensively on a variety of issues involving end-of-life decision making throughout Michigan and out-of-state, and articles he has written in the field have been published in respected legal journals. Mr. Broder is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and is admitted to practice in numerous state and federal courts.  He has been AV rated for many years, and he has been selected as a Super Lawyer for each of the last 10 years. Mr. Broder also publishes annually an "End of Life Decision-Making" chapter for ICLE.
